HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: UNVEILED THE TARGARYEN CREST THAT WILL BE USED IN THE SERIES

EW continues to give us insights into House of the Dragon , the Game of Thrones prequel series that will tell the story of House Targaryen .

The last special focuses on the Targaryen crest that we will see in the series, the one with the three-headed and four-legged dragon . In Game of Thrones , two different badges have been used over the seasons, going from a two-legged dragon to one, in fact, on all fours in the final episodes.
In an episode of the seventh season, there is also a flashback, in which we can see Rhaegar Targaryen wearing a suit with the four-legged emblem.

Speaking of which, co-showrunner Ryan Condal said:

You think you’ve seen the Targaryen crest many times in Game of Thrones, but it’s actually not as present in the original series. You’ve seen it in books, Funko Pop and stuff like that. The Targaryen dynasty had fallen so low that the coat of arms no longer existed, until Daenerys restored it. So we decided to retrace a path that honors the point where Daenerys left us, putting aside what people think about how it all started. In any case, I recommend that you stay tuned. We hope that over time everything makes sense.
