Guillermo Del Toro has recently landed on Netflix with his Pinocchio , a stop-motion film inspired by Collodi ‘s novel .

The film is set in fascist Italy in the 1930s, and thus re-proposes the link between history and fantasy that characterizes the poetics of the Mexican filmmaker. Del Toro co-directed with Mark Gustafson and co-wrote the story and screenplay. The release is expected for next December on the online platform.
