Huawei prepares the announcement of the P60 , a new high-end terminal two years after the last announcement.
Huawei continues to bet on staying active in mobile telephony, a market that had it as a protagonist until 2020 and the effects of the blockade imposed by the government of former President Donald Trump.
In 2021, the Chinese firm announced the P50 Pro with EMUI and the last of the P line for the photographic collaboration with Leica with delays , and was able to “save” its schedule with the late Mate 50 for 2022 . Now, the rumors of a new P60 appear, and it seems that we will have it now.
A post on the Weibo social network shares data on the arrival of the P60 series, and several details are obvious. To begin with, Huawei managed to get among the brands that have access to the new Qualcomm processor , the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 , although with cuts in connectivity due to trade restrictions from the United States. This leaves us a gen 2 with 4G connectivity.
Another novelty is the inclusion of XMAGE , Huawei’s new photographic system announced after the end of the multi-year agreement with the Leica company for the signature of its lenses on smartphones. The P60 series would be the first to add this solution.
Another publication on Weibo adds the possibility that the Mate X3 , Huawei ‘s folding screen phone, will be announced at the same event and that, for the moment, restricts its arrival only to certain countries outside of China.
Huawei prepares the P60 with accessories
In addition to the P60 series, Huawei is preparing a new generation of peripherals. The Weibo post mentions that, along with this generation of smartphones and the Mate X3, the FreeBuds 5 – the standard version above the 5i -, the Watch 4 with Harmony OS and the Huawei Band B7 will be announced.
The publication points out that there is no further news about the Huawei Band 8, a new Tablet 11, the Pro + version of the FreeBuds or the possibility that the Chinese firm presents headphones with a heart rate meter.
Huawei P60: release date
Specifically, rumors point to March 23 for the presentation of this Huawei 2023 catalog, with an event aimed at the Chinese market. In addition to these announcements, the presentation of HarmonyOS 3.1, or HongMeng for China, is expected, with news on connectivity issues.
