The official synopsis:

Sammy Davis Jr. started as a child as a vaudeville stage star and became one of the most famous African-American showmen of the 1950s and 1960s (and the only black member of Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack). At the same time, he spent much of his career surrounded by controversy and derision – including romance with white movie stars, marriage to Swedish actress May Britt, his conversion to Judaism, friendship with Kennedy (and later Richard Nixon) and his problems with alcohol and drugs.

It is currently unknown where or when the shooting will take place. Here it could arrive on Disney + .

A true pioneer

Sammy Davis Jr. was one of the first African-American artists to break through the barrier of racial prejudice to register a strong acceptance among the white public. It was thanks to his friendship with Frank Sinatra and his entry into the Rat Pack that he became a true celebrity. And he also built a career in film, appearing in the original Ocean’s 11 , or Colpo grosso , as well as in Three Against All and America’s Craziest Race .

Davis was known for two major interracial love stories, at a time when segregation still reigned in many American states. The first with actress Kim Novak , which Davis was forced to terminate after receiving threats of physical disabilities from gangsters in the pay of Columbia Pictures president Harry Cohn . The second with the Swedish May Britt , whom Davis eventually married and with whom he had three children in the eight years of marriage.
