John Williams said that the production of Indiana Jones and the wheel of destiny would have another ending in the reshoots, but evidently he was misunderstood: the director James Mangold in fact intervened on twitter to disprove these rumors.

Here are his statements:

So, I took a break from trolls for my birthday. But it seems I have to say it again… we will not and have never filmed any new scenes or “alternative endings”. Our film is 99% finished, is in the process of receiving the MPAA rating and the VFX is in the process of being completed. Happy Holidays!

Rumors have long circulated that the film will result in a passing of the baton between Indy ( Harrison Ford ) and his goddaughter Helena ( Phoebe Waller-Bridge ), but have been denied several times by Mangold himself .

I remind you that the American release of Indiana Jones and the wheel of fate is expected on June 30, 2023 . We will keep you posted.

The plot

We don’t know the more specific details yet, but we do know that the plot will be linked to Operation Paperclip , the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency program that recruited more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers and technicians between 1945 and 1959, some of them former members of the Nazi party. The antagonist Voller ( Mads Mikkelsen ) is in fact inspired by Wernher Von Braun , the father of the US space program.

The cast

Indiana Jones 5 stars Harrison Ford , Phoebe Waller-Bridge , Mads Mikkelsen , Boyd Holbrook , Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Antonio Banderas .

Production

The production is handled by franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall , together with Steven Spielberg , who is not behind the camera for the first time. The music will still be by John Williams .
