It is also an excellent platform for business, thanks to the fact that Instagram has its own platform called Business, through which services can be offered for paid advertising.
How to insert links in Instagram stories?
A feature that users frequently use is the stories section, called ‘Ig stories’, which are basically images or short videos that self-destruct in 24 hours. Their function is to share temporary news between users, although it is very popular with content creators and businesses due to its versatility to communicate.
Previously, stories could be linked to a post or website only if the content creator was a verified account or had a large following; however, Instagram extended this functionality to all its users
Steps to follow
To be able to insert a link in a story on Instagram it will be necessary:
- Open the app and make sure it doesn’t have any pending updates, this can be seen from the app store on iOS and Android
- Then go to the ‘Stories’ section, it can be found in the upper right corner by pressing the (+) button to create content
- Open the story creator
- Start recording or uploading the content, then click the ‘Add a sticker’ option
- Search between the ‘Link’ options and write a URL, press save and upload the story.
The story will appear linked to a chosen website, product or page. You can also add other types of stickers such as photos, default stickers, GIFs, songs and tag contacts.
Linked stories also last 24 hours and can be featured on the profile.
