Instagram has the function to restore images, stories and videos deleted in a certain period.
Instagram has a feature that allows the user to recover their deleted posts, stories and videos. Like some mobile devices, Instagram copied this functionality with the goal of giving users 30 days to repent and restore lost media.
How to recover deleted material from Instagram?
The function is available from February 2021 and except for the stories, the files will remain 30 days to disappear permanently. To access the ‘recently deleted’ folder, you must follow a series of steps:
- Open the Instagram app
- Touch the ‘Profile’ icon at the top right to login to the account
- Tap the three lines at the top right of the app.
- Click on the ‘Settings’ section
- Login to ‘Account’.
- Tap the ‘Recently Deleted’ option
- Select from the top menu the type of content to restore or permanently delete
- Tap on the photo, video or story preview to restore
- Tap on the three dots icon
- Tap on ‘Restore to profile or ‘Restore’ to return the original content
Instagram will send an email or SMS for a security verification when deleting and restoring content, Done! the removed content will return to its original section in the feed, or IG TV section.
What kind of content can be recovered from ‘Deleted Files’?
Instagram allows you to recover files from Instagram TV videos, photos and videos. Stories can be restored after 24 hours of deletion. All files will be available in the ‘Recently Deleted’ folder and can be accessed by following these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and make sure it doesn’t require updates
- Touch the profile icon, located at the top right of the application.
- Tap on the three lines that are in the upper right
- Touch the ‘Settings’ section
- Login to ‘Account’
- Access the ‘Recently Deleted’ folder
