Instagram also ensures that it will be “more transparent” with data privacy in minors.
Instagram has announced its improvement plans for this 2022 and the priorities point to the videos on the platform.
The announcement was made by the app’s CEO himself, Adam Mosseri, who has pointed out that Instagram will prioritize videos in users’ timelines.
“We are going to redouble our focus on video, we are no longer just a photo sharing application, and we will consolidate all our video formats in Reels and continue to grow that product,” Mosseri said on his Twitter account.
In October, Instagram said that “Video” was the new home for IGTV, feed videos, and live broadcasts . As of now, this feature appears right next to Reels, but perhaps the company still plans to integrate all of its video formats, as none of its non- Instagram apps took off, as did Threads .
2022 Priorities 📝
This next year is going to be pivotal for Instagram. In addition to our industry-leading safety and wellbeing efforts, we’re focused on these four key priorities.
Hope you’re all able to get some rest over the holidays. See you in the New Year! ✌🏼 pic.twitter.com/iY8uQ1EnMZ

Another focus on Instagram in 2022 will be transparency. Although people still find this statement very contradictory to his actions , Mosseri has moved forward to inform people about how Instagram works . Earlier this year, he posted stories about the app’s algorithm and introduced new control features, following the kids’ Instagram controversy .
“We will not only redouble our work on controls, but we will expand to do more around transparency. We believe that it is important for people to understand how Instagram works if they are going to shape what they want or what is best for them, “says the executive.
