Instagram will allow adding music to the ‘wall’ posts

Instagram is still testing this option to see if it receives interest from users.

The social network Instagram has begun to test a new function, at the moment only among users from countries such as India, with which it allows users to add songs to their ‘feed’ publications.

This has been assured by the person in charge of Instagram Partnerships in India from her personal account, @ladyroxpop, who has explained that the new function allows adding music to publications, as was already possible in Stories and Reels .

Until now, it was precisely the Stories of ephemeral content and the short videos with music Reels that were the only sections of Instagram where music could be added, as is the case with platforms such as TikTok.

It’s just a test

At the moment, the new feature is accessible only to Instagram users in some countries, including India, as confirmed by the platform’s Partnerships manager.

The music is added to the publications in the final step, ‘share’, and is shown between the location and the advanced settings, with a slide from the main screen that leads to a second one in which it is possible to search for specific songs.

Some songs are also highlighted on this music screen through sections such as ‘trending’, ‘for you’ (based on user activity) or ‘recently used’.

The music is played later when the user opens the publication, and the part of the song that plays in it can also be chosen.
