Internet Explorer will say goodbye on June 15 and Microsoft leaves a tip to its users

Internet Explorer will retire on June 15, giving way to Edge  as Microsoft’s preferred browser .

The legendary browser Internet Explorer  will stop receiving support on June 15, leaving Edge as a replacement as an alternative to Microsoft .

However, as is often the case in this type of case, many companies and organizations still depend on this browser to continue working, a fact that will cause problems the day it ceases.

Given this, Microsoft has a tip.

The step to Edge

Microsoft has pointed out that, if any website intrinsically depends on Internet Explorer 11 , you can activate the ‘IE Mode’ in Microsoft Edge to continue working normally, thanks to the compatibility maintained by the browser. With this mode, Edge will be able to work with the Internet Explorer engine in addition to the current Chromium.

The company published a website where they offer information on how to redirect traffic from IE 11 to Edge without problems.

The end of a big?

Internet Explorer hit the market 25 years ago as part of the “plus” package released for Windows 95 and based on the Spyglass Mosaic code. To confront other browsers, it simply installed it by default on its system, in the middle of a case that led to lawsuits and lawsuits for anticompetitive measures.

Its popularity, yes, declined with the arrival of Google Chrome, which largely dominates in market share .

For its part, today, Microsoft Edge has been improved to the point that it can surpass Chrome in many aspects, especially in speed and user experience.

Microsoft Edge is not only a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, it can also address a key concern: compatibility with older and legacy websites and apps .

The end of Internet Explorer has been a long time coming. Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer 11 for the Microsoft Teams web app last year, in addition to Microsoft 365 services at the end of 2021. Internet Explorer 11 no longer supports Microsoft online services such as Office 365, OneDrive , Outlook and more since last August 17.
