iPhone maker Foxconn partners with Indonesia to build electric cars

Important partner of Apple , Foxconn , has partnered with the government of Indonesia for the deployment of an industry of electric cars .

Taiwan – based iPhone assembler giant Foxconn said it has struck a partnership with Indonesia’s Investment Ministry along with several companies to support the development of electric cars in the Southeast Asian country.

Apple ‘s main partner , it has expanded its activities in the electric car industry , along with its association with Indonesia, it joins agreements with the American startup Fisker Inc and the Thai energy group PTT PCL. 

Foxconn indicates that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for a wide range of investments in the electric car industry.

“A New Energy Ecosystem”

Foxconn ‘s cooperation includes battery manufacturing with the Indonesian Ministry of Investment, as well as the Indonesia Battery Corporation, power company PT Indika Energy, and Taiwanese electric scooter company Gogoro.

The aim of this alliance is to create “a new energy ecosystem” in Indonesia, also including energy storage systems, battery exchange stations and recycling, Foxconn said in a statement.
