Jamie Lee Curtis has chosen an original way to thank all the people who contributed to her victory for best supporting actress at the 2023 Oscars.
The star, awarded for Everything Everywhere All at Once , involved them in the victory, repeating the phrase “We have just won an Oscar.”
“I know it looks like I’m on this stage alone, but I’m not — it’s hundreds of people,” Curtis said. The actress especially thanked the fans “who have supported the genre films I’ve made all these years – the thousands, the hundreds of thousands – we just won an Oscar!”. Obviously the reference is to the Halloween saga , of which the star is the undisputed protagonist.
Furthermore, Jamie Lee Curtis recalled that his illustrious parents, the actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh , despite both having been nominated – Tony Curtis as the lead actor for The Wall of Mud , Janet Leigh as a supporting actor for Psycho – have never won the statuette. Proof of the fact that, sometimes, talent doesn’t skip a generation.
