Aru Otoko/One Man was the Big Winner of the 46th Japan Academy Awards .
The film directed by Kei Ishikawa won eight awards, including best film, director, screenplay, leading actor, supporting actor and actress, sound and editing.
Shin Ultraman follows with four awards : photography, lighting, art director and newcomer. The First Slam Dunk , one of the big Japanese box office hits of 2023, won Best Animated Feature. The award was accepted by producer Toshiyuki Matsui who said:
“I believe this work was made because the original manga author, Takehiko Inoue, tried to express himself in the unfamiliar world of cinema.
And it is a work that has been completed because all the staff never gave up the challenge and fought to the end. I think this award is very encouraging for everyone”
Makoto Shinkai ‘s Suzume won the Best Score Award ( RADWIMPS and Kazuma Jinnouchi ), this is the third award for RADWIMPS , after .your name and Weathering with You .
The Topic of the Year award, the only one voted for by the public, was won by One Piece Film: Red and collected by Mayumi Tanaka , the voice actress of Monkey D. Luffy, who shouted: “I will become the pirate king!”
