JON WATTS IS NO LONGER THE DIRECTOR OF FANTASTIC 4

In 2020 it was announced that the Fantastic 4 would return to the big screen, starring in a new film directed by Jon Watts.

A name linked to the latest cinematic adventures of Spider-Man .

Well, it’s been a while and now we learn that the project has lost the director.

A friendly decision

It seems to be a friendly decision in any case, Watts has been busy with the three Spider-Man films for the past few years and now wants to take a break from the superhero world.

Kevin Feige , president of Marvel Studios and Louis D’Esposito , co-president of Marvel Studios, said:

Collaborating with Jon on the Spider-Man movies was a real pleasure. We looked forward to continuing our work with him to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU, but we understand and support his reasons for moving away. We are optimistic that we will have the opportunity to work together again in the future.

Jon Watts added:

Making three Spider-Man movies was an incredible, life-changing experience. I will be eternally grateful for being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years. I hope we will work together again and I can’t wait to see this new Fantastic Four adventure.

The last film dedicated to the superhero group was Fantastic 4 , directed by Josh Trank in 2015.
In the cast Kate Mara as Sue Storm / the Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm / The Thing and Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch. With them also Toby Kebbell , in the role of Victor Doomashev / Doom.
