Let Me In is described as an exploration of human frailty, strength and compassion through the lens of gender. It will focus on Mark (Demián Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), bitten by a vampire ten years before the events narrated in the series. Since then, that is, since she was twelve, Eleanor has lived a recluse, while her father does everything to get her human blood.
The cast also features Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Nick Stahl, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman and Jacob Buster .

Andrew Hinderaker , creator of the Netflix series Away , wrote the pilot and also participates as a showrunner. These are his statements:

The original film is about the relationship between a bullied and isolated boy and a lonely girl, who turns out to be a vampire. I also found the relationship between the vampire and the adult who takes care of her compelling. I took the film as inspiration to create a story that focuses on a 12 year old girl who is a 10 year old vampire. Her father takes care of her, keeps her alive. I have kept hope alive that one day they will find a cure for this disease and that it will not be like this forever.

As for the relationship with the boy, he then added:

Isaiah and Madison have a very deep relationship but Isaiah’s mother is a homicide detective and this makes everything very unstable.

Seith Mann directed the pilot and will direct other episodes.
