Tesla announced that it will stop including the charging cable for its different car models, a decision similar to that of Apple or Samsung for cell phones.

Tesla , Elon Musk ‘s car company , has made a decision that might generate fury on first reading, but makes sense on analysis. The company indicated that it will stop including the charging cable that allows the electrical connection to the vehicle’s batteries and will sell it separately at a price of up to 200 dollars.
In a tweet, Elon Musk himself has highlighted the justification for this movement of the company, who has pointed out that the statistics show a very low use of this addition.
Usage statistics were super low, so seemed wasteful. On the (minor) plus side, we will be including more plug adapters with the mobile connector kit.
The South African businessman, who recently offered 43 billion dollars to acquire Twitter, mentioned that there is no problem if you have a charging system on the wall of your home or if you need to use the “Supercharge” station in different parts of the world.
Tesla will not include chargers
The accessory is a cable that allows Tesla cars to be charged through a converter to a traditional outlet and that allows the vehicle to be powered when we are far from an installed charging point. This cable will no longer be offered with the car, but it can be purchased easily when ordering a car, if the customer requests it.
Musk closes the tweet by mentioning that it is “recommended to install the Tesla wall connectors before receiving the car at home” when buying it. The company offers a fast charging system for the home at a price of 495 dollars, but this charging cable that came as part of the vehicle accessories is a “lifesaver” for those who are far from an official charging system.
Apple, Samsung and Tesla
This decision by Tesla brings to the table the debate generated by Apple when, in 2020 and for the sake of an “eco-environmental commitment”, they decided to remove the chargers from the iPhone , the iPad and a large part of the apple catalog. This movement, which considerably reduces the operational and shipping costs of phones globally, has been observed by different countries for alleged violations of laws in favor of the consumer.
After this measure, Samsung applied the same strategy in the entire range of products. However, unlike Apple, the South Korean brand uses a USB-C connector that is more common among home chargers.
