LILO & STITCH: HERE IS THE ACTRESS WHO WILL PLAY LITTLE LILO

Disney has found the young protagonist for Lilo & Stitch , the live-action remake of the animated classic to be directed by Dean Fleischer Camp , director of Marcel the Shell .
This is newcomer Maia Kealoha , who we can see portrayed in this photo. The resemblance of her to the animated character is indisputable.

In the cast we will also find Zach Galifianakis , star of The Hangover . The actor will voice the alien Pleakley , voiced by Kevin McDonald in the original film.

Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the final draft of the screenplay, reworking that by Mike Van Waes . Lilo & Stitch will be produced by Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich , with Ryan Halprin serving as executive producer. At this point, we don’t know if the film will be placed in theaters or on Disney+ .

For Dean Fleischer-Camp, whose Marcel the Shell was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, this will be the first major project for a studio. Galifianakis, on the other hand, has already collaborated with Disney and dubbed the robot protagonist of Ron – A friend outside the program .

The original movie

Released in 2002, Lilo & Stitch chronicled the encounter between a lonely Hawaiian girl named Lilo and the most wanted extraterrestrial in the galaxy, Stitch. A genetic experiment who escaped from an alien planet that crash-landed on Earth. Through love, trust and an unconditional faith in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo opens Stitch’s heart, giving him the ability to care for others. The original film was written and directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders .
