We do know though that an uncensored version of the film was in the plans, and confirmation came today from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment .

Both the unrated and theatrical versions of M3GAN will be available digitally on February 24, 2023 , and on Blu-ray and DVD on March 21, 2023 .

M3GAN screenwriter Akela Cooper revealed earlier this year that the story in the script was more gore and the body count was higher than in the film The virality of the trailer among teenagers had led them to tone down to give them the opportunity to see the film.

The synopsis

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-sized doll programmed to be children’s greatest companion and parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy company roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams of Get Out), M3GAN is able to listen, watch and learn, becoming a friend and teacher, playmate and protector of the child to whom she is bonded.

When Gemma suddenly becomes the guardian of her 8-year-old orphaned niece, Cady, she is insecure and unprepared to parenthood. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to solve both problems – a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.
