Adapted from the eponymous comic book by Bobby Crosby, the film follows Kat Valdez (Lopez), a music star who will marry her fiance Bastian (Maluma) at Madison Square Garden. When it is revealed minutes before the ceremony that Bastian betrayed her, Kat chooses a random person from the crowd, divorced math teacher Charlie Gilbert (Wilson), to marry. What starts out as an impulsive reaction evolves into an unexpected romance. But as the forces conspire to tear them apart, the question arises: Can two people from such different worlds work together?
The cast also features Sarah Silverman, Chloe Coleman, Michelle Buteau and Utkarsh Ambudkar.
The film is directed by Kat Coiro (from the “ Brooklyn Nine-Nine” series) and written by John Rogers (from the “The Librarians” series ), Tami Sagher (from the “ 30 Rock” series ) and Harper Dill (from the “ The Mick ” series ” ).
