The relationship between Disney+ and Marvel Studios has recently extended beyond television series.

Thanks to the two specials released in recent months, Werewolf , which arrived around Halloween, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special . Now, according to scooper Daniel Ritchman , Marvel is developing two more Halloween specials for the platform.

Lincatropus has been well received by critics and audiences. You can read DocManhattan’s review HERE .

The next Marvel series to hit Disney+ will be What If…? season 2, Secret Invasion, Loki, Ironheart, Echo season 2, Agatha: Coven of Chaos , and, in 2024, Daredevil: Born Again . There are currently no plans for Marvel Studios to make films aimed directly at the platform, so the specials, which are less than an hour long, will be the closest thing to a “made for TV movie” produced by the studio. If exploited well, as in the case of Licantropus , they could also attempt interesting experiments, using slightly different tones and imagery than what we expect from an MCU production. Or, as in the case of Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special, represent an appetizer, or “aperitif”, as James Gunn called it , to an anticipated film.
