MATRIX RESURRECTIONS – EARLY COMMENTS PRAISE THE SEQUEL’S AMBITIONS

The first reactions of the press on Matrix Resurrections arrive from the United States , the highly anticipated return of the saga after more than 18 years from the third chapter.

These comments are quite interesting, as they allow us to broadly understand which direction the sequel will go. Many speak of a metanarrative approach, a sign that the film will have a great awareness of itself and its nature (it is difficult to imagine how and why, without having seen it). “It’s Lana Wachowski’s reflection on why she didn’t want to make another Matrix movie … through another Matrix movie .” One of the comments points out how an innovative way was found to frame the new story. The chemistry between Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss is also praised , along with the character of Jessica Henwick .

Not everyone liked it, however. A minority is not convinced of the metanarrative approach, and some have even complained about the action scenes, as well as the excessive exhibitor dialogues. In any case, several reactions highlight the centrality of the love story between Neo and Trinity in the plot.

I remind you that the Italian release is expected on January 1, 2022 . It will arrive in the United States on December 22 , and will be the last film simultaneously available on HBO MAX . You will find the comments below.
