CINEMA, Posters & Images
It is often said that reality surpasses fantasy, but perhaps it would be more correct to say that science fiction anticipates reality. In recent days, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Facebook (the company, not the social network) will change its name to Meta , announcing the company’s new goals: to create a virtual space that, through holographic technologies, will allow us to meet our loved ones, work and have other experiences without moving from home, using VR headsets and augmented reality glasses. It is basically the “metaverse” that has been talked about for some time, and which should replace the internet in the future.
Well, many have commented that the metaverse will materialize the Matrix nightmare , and the Matrix Resurrections twitter account was quick to ride the wave: a modified version of the poster portrays the two famous pills, red and blue, with an inscription which says “Now based on real events – The choice is yours” . Indeed, the cyberpunk dystopia of the Wachowskis risks being no longer science fiction, but reality. On the other hand, Matrix Resurrections will also talk about this: the digital age and social networks have trapped us in a real version of the Matrix , even before the metaverse.
I remind you that the Italian release is expected for January 1, 2022 . It will arrive in the United States on December 22 , and will be the last film simultaneously available on HBO MAX . You can see the image below.
