Mephisto could indeed be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut , after years of rumors that he was everywhere (from WandaVision to Spider-Man: No Way Home ).
Rumors in recent months claim that Sacha Baron Cohen will play the demon in Ironheart and Agatha: Coven of Chaos , but there may be something else in store for him as well.
In the latest installment of The Hot Mic , Jeff Sneider reports what he has been told by some sources:
I ‘ve been told that there’s a Mephisto special filming on the set of Agatha: House of Harkness . Looks like they could do a special on him.
The first rumors about a special (Halloween) dedicated to Mephisto date back to a year ago , when Marvel Studios had not yet revealed the format of the Special Presentation , used last fall for Werewolf and Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special . A medium-length film would allow the character to be introduced or to narrate the background, depending on when it would be distributed.
No other information is available at the moment, but we will keep you updated.
The origins
In the comics, the character shares a history with Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer , of which he is one of the main adversaries: not surprisingly, he was created in The Silver Surfer #3 by Stan Lee and John Buscema .
Mephisto in live action
The lord of the underworld has already appeared twice in live-action, played by Peter Fonda and Ciarán Hinds in the two Ghost Rider movies . In both cases he had a human appearance, while in the comics he is much more demonic. Of course, none of those movies are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe .
