According to files presented to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), this money is spent to protect the life of the founder of Facebook , who becomes one of the technology leaders who spends the most in this field in the world. .

The amount is the largest spent by the company to date, exceeding 25 million in 2020 and 23 million in 2019.

Since 2018, the Facebook leader’s corporate security costs have outpaced other Big Tech executives by a wide margin. Meta ‘s spending on Zuckerberg ‘s security doubled in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Meta said in the SEC filing that it spent more than $15.1 million on personal security for Zuckerberg in 2021, in addition to a $10 million tax allocation for security related to him and his family.
