Xbox wants to bring gaming through the cloud to users who do not have a console.
This will not please our sister blog More Consoles . Microsoft has confirmed that it is working on a cloud -only gaming device .
In the style of a Chromecast, the device known within Microsoft as “Keystone” would connect directly to a monitor or television to provide streaming video games.
This became known thanks to the appearance of ” Keystone ” in a list of Microsoft products leaked in March of this year.
Microsoft confirms it
An unidentified Microsoft spokesperson contacted Windows Central , confirming that it is a company project.
“Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming remains the same and our goal is to empower people to play the games they want on the devices of their choice, wherever they are. As announced last year, we have been working on a video game streaming device, Keystone, that can be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console,” the spokesperson explained.
However, “ Keystone ” is still under development and changes are expected.
“As part of our technical exploration, we are constantly evaluating our efforts and learnings to deliver value to our customers… We have made the decision to stop developing the current version of the Keystone device. We will take our learnings to refocus our efforts (…) ”, he concluded.
