The plot
Set in a classic Mad Max desert future , Miracle Workers: End Times will center on a warrior (Radcliffe) and a ruthless warlord (Viswanathan) who fall in love and are faced with their worst dystopian nightmare of all: moving to the suburbs. Together they face the existential horrors of marriage and small-town life, under the guidance of a devious and wealthy merchant (Buscemi).
Also starring is Jon Bass as the couple’s loyal “war dog” and Karan Soni as a party-loving killer robot.
The anthology series was created by Simon Rich from his own writings. Each season has dealt with different eras and themes, always under the lens of comedy. The third, Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail , was about conquering the West, for example.
Dan Mirk and Robert Padnick are the current showrunners. Lorne Michaels, Simon Rich, Andrew Singer, Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi and Jorma Taccone are executive producers. End Times will premiere in the US on TBS on January 16.
