Costing less than a million dollars, the film had managed to collect over 75 million worldwide, giving the green light to what we can define as a “spiritual sequel”. We are talking about Missing , arriving in our theaters on March 9 and directed by newcomers Will Merrick and Nick Johnson .
Here is the official poster

Missing does not mark the return of the original cast led by John Cho . It is a completely new story, which however maintains the same narrative structure of Searching , very particular.
In fact, the action takes place entirely on the screens of computers and mobile devices. Something seen in other films such as the horror Unfriended .
In the cast we find Storm Reid, Nia Long and Joaquim de Almeida .

The story revolves around June (Storm Reid), a young girl who decides to carry out a personal investigation to find her mother (Nia Long), who apparently hides many secrets.

The plot

Missing is a gripping mystery thriller full of twists and turns that makes you think about how well we know the people closest to us. During a vacation in Colombia, a woman (Nia Long) disappears with her new boyfriend. Her daughter, June (Storm Reid), starts looking for her but is hindered by international bureaucracy. Stranded thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology available to her to try and find her before she’s too late. When June digs deeper with her digital investigation of her it will raise more questions than answers and secrets about her mother that will make her discover she never really knew her.
