MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING: PART 1 WILL BE THE LONGEST FILM IN THE SAGA

The Mission: Impossible cinematic saga will end in an epic way with a film divided into two parts, and the first – Dead Reckoning: Part 1 – promises to be colossal.

In fact, IGN reveals that the film will be the longest of the franchise, reaching 156 minutes (or 2 hours and 36) without credits.

The previous record belonged to Mission: Impossible – Fallout , which stopped at 2 hours and 27: in short, 9 minutes less. It will be interesting to see if Ethan Hunt ‘s ( Tom Cruise ) new adventure will have a suspended ending, but according to the title it would seem so. The sequel was dubbed Dead Reckoning: Part 2 , not surprisingly.

However, between recurring characters, new faces and others who return from the origins of the saga, there will be a lot of irons in the fire. There will also be the most dangerous stunt in the history of cinema , or so it was described by the marketing, and of course Tom Cruise did it himself.

I remind you that the release of Dead Reckoning: Part 1 is expected for July 13, 2023 , while Part 2 will arrive on June 28, 2024 . In the following Instagram post, director Christopher McQuarrie announces that the film is complete and ready for release.

Direction and screenplay

After the commercial and critical success of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout , direction and screenplay were entrusted again to Christopher McQuarrie , who began a collaboration with Tom Cruise since Jack Reacher . He also won the Academy Award with Bryan Singer for the screenplay of The Usual Suspects .
