If Tom Cruise doesn’t mind throwing himself into the void while thanking his fans , you can imagine what he’s willing to do for a film shoot, especially Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part 1 . We’re talking about the actor who scaled the Burj Khalifa, and took off on a plane clinging to the exterior tailgate… yet, Cruise always finds a way to up the ante (and pump up the insurance company’s cold sweats).
A nine-minute video takes us behind the scenes of the “most incredible stunt in the history of cinema”, as the title states. We saw it at the end of the teaser , and Cruise discussed it here : It’s a motorcycle launch off a cliff, resulting in the paraglider unfolding to land safely. Cruise has done it six times, after months of training in parachute jumping and motocross.
The backstage itself is highly spectacular, shot very well, and even manages to keep us in suspense (even knowing that, fortunately, everything went well). At the end there is also a mini trailer, made up of scenes from the previous teaser . I remind you that the release of Dead Reckoning: Part 1 is expected for July 13, 2023 , while Part 2 will arrive on June 28, 2024 .

After the commercial and critical success of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout , direction and screenplay were entrusted again to Christopher McQuarrie , who began a collaboration with Tom Cruise since Jack Reacher . He also won the Academy Award with Bryan Singer for the screenplay of The Usual Suspects .
