He worked in the nineties at Disney . He started as a story artist on Mulan , and then worked on a number of projects before making his debut as a co-director in Oceania , and then as a director on Big Hero 6 .
In a clip on the Netflix Animation site, which you can see below, Williams explained the reason behind his move to Netflix :
“It’s a place where people can do what they’ve always wanted to do but never thought they could.
And I think it’s a very exciting thing for people who work in animation. ”

The vocal cast includes: Karl Urban, Zaris-Angel Hator, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Dan Stevens and Kathy Burke .
Directed by Chris Williams (Moana, Big Hero 6, Bolt), co-producer with Jed Schlanger and co-writer with Nell Benjamin . The editing was entrusted to Joyce Arrastia , the soundtrack is the work of Mark Mancina .
The Sea Beast will debut on Netflix on July 8
