NATIONAL TREASURE: CATHERINE ZETA-JONES ALSO IN THE CAST OF THE DISNEY + SERIES

Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined the cast of National Treasure , a Disney + series inspired by the film with Nicolas Cage The Mystery of the Templars .

The Disney Branded Television series, produced by ABC Signature, is called an “expansion of the film franchise” centered on Jess ( Lisette Alexis ), a bright and enterprising girl who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about the mysterious past of the his family and save a lost Pan American treasure. Jess is a DREAMer, meaning she is part of a government program created in 2012 under the Obama presidency to allow people illegally led in the United States – such as children – to live, study and work temporarily in the USA.

Catherine Zeta-Jones will play Billie, a tough billionaire, antiques black market expert and treasure hunter who lives by her code. She has transformed from a penniless orphan to a smart and elegant business woman and adventurer. Billie is used to getting what she wants and the Pan American treasure desires. But not just for the money. This treasure has a deeper stake for her.

Cast and producers

In addition to Lisette Alexis and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the cast will include Lyndon Smith, Zuri Reed, Jake Austin Walker, Antonio Cipriano and Jordan Rodrigues . The series executive produces Jerry Bruckheimer, Jon Turteltaub and Marianne and Cormac Wibberley , respectively producer, director and screenwriter of the original film.

The Wibberleys wrote the pilot episode of National Treasure , which will be directed by Mira Nair .
