Following its announcement at MWC 2023 , Honor confirms the arrival of its Honor Magic Vs.
Honor seeks to strongly promote its arrival in the international market, and the recent MWC 2023 has been the ideal showcase to extend the impact of its announcements. After officially presenting the Magic 5 Pro and the Lite version, spokespersons for Honor Peru confirmed to RPP the arrival of the new Magic Vs in our country along with the rest of the catalog.
The smartphone has already been presented in November 2022 , but Honor took advantage of its presence at the Mobile World Congress to add international support to the second generation of its folding device with Magic OS 7.1, the brand’s custom version of Android 13.
For David Moheno, communications director for Honor LATAM, “the more quality products there are in a given market, that forces brands to launch better products; but, from their research and development, they really make a difference”.
Honor Magic Vs, the international leap into the folding world
We are facing a daring commitment by Honor to compete in a market dominated by Samsung for almost half a decade with the Fold series. Note that we are talking about an ultra-premium segment where brands such as Oppo, Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi and even Tecno Mobile have decided to approach with clear proposals.

Faced with this expanding market, Honor relies on three differentials that, in theory, puts them at an advantage over the rest of the competitors that escort Samsung. To begin with, we have the international availability of this foldable, which ensures not only that the user can be in contact with the team in experience centers, but also that they have local support.
The second differential is research and development. The hinge structure reduces the opening and closing mechanism of the equipment to only 4 components, a process that can be performed 400 thousand times without the Magic Vs having problems. Along with this, the “Zero Gap” construction fits both sides of the screen perfectly, although there is still work to be done to make the device more stable in “laptop mode” and “stool mode”.
The third is the motivation of the company. Although it was founded almost a decade ago, for less than three years it has been involved in a race to get away from its obvious reference in Huawei and make a name for itself in the industry. With a name that little by little is beginning to sound strong in the region, Honor points to an aggressive strategy that includes a complete catalogue, stores in Peru, support and other factors that other Chinese companies with the same time of presence in our country have not yet face.
“In the last 20 years, the mobile industry has integrated solutions from other industries. For example, with the car scanner, camera, recorder, wallet, etc., with which, the devices become more powerful. Today, I believe that the foldable smartphone provides two different user experiences [traditional smartphone and tablet]”, George Zhao, global CEO of HONOR, told RPP and other media.
The Magic Vs will be presented in Peru in the coming weeks, and we are waiting for a review unit to tell you everything you need to know about the team.
