Amazon Prime Video released a new trailer for ‘The Boys’, season 3, in the format of a Vought News Network newscast.
Last June, Amazon Prime Video started the promotional campaign for The Boys, season 3, with a series of videos that reveal the situation of some characters after the epic end of the second season. These advances also parody one of the most controversial channels in the United States: Fox News.
In its September instalment, the Vought News Network, a propaganda program entirely controlled by Vought International, reveals the tensions between the government and superheroes. The authorities discuss the restrictions that these figures should have, especially after the scandals that they have starred in lately.
However, perhaps the most exciting part of The Boys teaser is the mockery of streaming video services. To be more specific, it seems that it is directed directly against Disney Plus. And it is that Homelander, Starlight, A-Train, among others, appear on the screen, promoting Vought +, a platform that offers all kinds of content. From the Vought News Network, whose information is “reliable”, to sports sections and the usual films with aspirational history.
The Boys, the Amazon satire
In advance, we know that those responsible for the series do not touch their hearts when it is time to charge against real-world situations. After all, The Boys is also a satire that exposes the worst of humanity, especially the United States. The first two seasons had multiple references to that country’s problems, and the new episodes will follow the same line.
Amazon has not yet confirmed the release date of the third season of The Boys. However, they keep the promise to release it before the end of the year. Without a doubt, it is one of the most anticipated series for the second half of 2021.
The cast of the third season of The Boys is comprised of Jack Quaid (Hughie), Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Antony Starr (Homelander), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Laz Alonso (Marvin), Jessie T Usher (A-Train), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko) and Giancarlo Esposito (Stan Edgar). We must not forget that they recently announced the signings of Sean Patrick Flanery (Gunpowder), Nick Wechsler (Blue Hawk) and Miles Gaston Villanueva (Supersonic).
