Office 2021: Learn about the new features of Microsoft’s family of productivity applications

The new 2021 version of Microsoft’s suite of productivity applications has been implemented with the release of Windows 11 on October 5.

Microsoft Office 2021 is the latest version of the family of productivity applications, released alongside the new Windows 11 operating system for businesses, customers, and consumers. 

Updated applications include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, and Visio and receiving a significant aesthetic redesign.

The tech giant launched the one-time Office 2021 purchase but remains focused on its leading subscription service Microsoft 365.

New features in Office 2021

Unlike the previous generation, Office 2021 has implemented more productive functions, focused on competing against Google applications, which have grown during the pandemic.

Office 2021 users can also get access to Microsoft Teams and features that were previously exclusive to Microsoft 365, such as advanced grammar suggestions and Presenter Coach in PowerPoint.

The Office 2021 applications have received a visual update with a monoline iconography, new multimedia content, and a search bar from Microsoft in all applications for general inquiries.

Additionally, it has received performance improvements, support for the OpenDocument 1.3 format, and a hex value box when choosing colors.

Price and availability

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade from Office 2019 to Office 2021 without paying the total price. However, if you have Microsoft 365, all Office applications and services will be updated with the latest features.
