Jenna Ortega , star and producer of Wednesday , has clear ideas about the direction that the second season will take.
Speaking with Elle Fanning on the latest episode of Variety ‘s Actors on Actors , the actress confirmed that the new episodes will put more emphasis on horror:
We have decided that we want to focus a little more on the horror aspect of the series. She’s very lighthearted, and in a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t have to take yourself too seriously.
In the first season, Wednesday experienced a love triangle with Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) and Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White) , criticized by some fans: well, such a situation will not happen again.
We’re trashing any romantic interests on Wednesday, which is great. We will be bolder, darker.
Previously, Jenna Ortega said that love triangle “didn’t make sense” for a character like Wednesday .
Netflix has obviously not announced when the second season will be released, it is still too early. We will keep you posted.
