Netflix ‘s commitment to video games is not working out in the best way for the platform.

According to Apptopia , these Netflix games are played by 1.7 million daily users, less than 1% of the platform’s 221 million subscribers.

Games are not “so” welcome

In total, according to CNBC , Netflix games have been downloaded some 23.3 million times.

“We are going to be experimental and try a lot of things. But I would say that the prize is in the long term by focusing more on our ability to create properties that are connected to the universes, the characters, the stories that we are building, “said Greg Peters, director of operations of Netflix , announcing the arrival of these titles.

“We’re still intentionally keeping things a little quiet because we’re still learning and experimenting and trying to figure out what things are going to really resonate with our members, what games people want to play,” says Leanne Loombe, director of external games.

Remember that many of these games must be downloaded by manual search in the Play Store and App Store of Android and iOS.

Gaming to diversify

The bet on video games is not a first for streaming services, since Amazon Prime Video has a close relationship with Prime Gaming , who, in addition to giving away renowned games, also gives bonuses on very popular titles.

Netflix , however, has turned its content towards mobile games and many of them are based on its original productions such as Stranger Things.
