The OPPO Find N2 Flip is one of the most attractive cell phones of the year.
The foldable cell phone market is growing and more and more brands are competing with Samsung, which has been launching this type of device for four years.
OPPO got into the fight at the end of 2021 with its Find N. At the end of 2022, it renewed its line with the Find N2 and the Find N2 Flip . It is the latter that attracts the most attention, especially since it will be sold outside of China. We tested the Find N2 Flip and this has been our experience.
OPPO Find N2 Flip: design with the outer screen that we needed
The Find N2 Flip is a “toad” that attracts attention due to its exterior screen. Its 3.26” AMOLED stands out, considering that the Galaxy Z Flip4 is 1.9 inches.
Having a screen of this size makes selfies and video with the main camera much more fluid. It is a big difference, which I hope will become the basis for the “toads” of the future.”
It is true that the widgets that this screen offers us left me wanting more, but from OPPO they told us that “little things are coming”, with a layer of software specially designed for this screen that would allow us, for example, to see Instagram stories .
It’s also possible to install third-party software to give the external display more functionality, but it’s far from perfect. I look forward to the native implementation. The concrete thing is that you have to work with.
When we go to the main panel, we have 6.8 inches with a 120Hz LTPO panel and a brightness that reaches 1600 nits maximum. A very good screen. Obviously, the crease is noticeable if we look for it. But with foldables, it’s something we get used to. I take our nose for example: if we look for it we find it in our field of vision, but it is not something that happens on a daily basis.
The hinge has a very elegant finish. This cell phone does attract attention
Being a “toad”, OPPO opts for a side fingerprint reader on the lock button, which works very well.
We tested the “glossy” version, although the OPPO Find N2 Flip is also available in matte, more appropriate so as not to attract fingerprints.
OPPO Find N2 Flip: performance, autonomy and experience
OPPO opted for MediaTek ‘s Dimensity 9000+ for this device. It’s not the fastest processor on the market, but it does give us high-end performance. I estimate at the level of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
With a 4,300 mAh battery, the OPPO Find N2 Flip gives us autonomy that stands out among the “toads”, taking us without problems throughout a day and a little more.
It also highlights the 44W load. It’s not the fastest, but it’s more than adequate. This device also includes the charger in the box.
ColorOS 13 brings us Android 13 , with an implementation that little by little integrates the possibilities of a foldable. As I explained, it is indebted to get more out of the external screen.
What is encouraging is that OPPO has committed to bringing four years of Android updates to this device, so it has good future support
