01 Distribution will handle the distribution in Italy of the thriller Origin of Species , the new film directed by Ron Howard presented at the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival .
Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Ana de Armas, Jude Law and Alicia Vikander , the Noah Pink (Tetris) scripted film centers on a group of eclectics who turn their backs on civilization and head to the Galapagos.
Paolo Del Brocco of RAI Cinema told Variety that he has teamed up with Lucisano Media Group to buy the rights to the film.
Moon The Panda
In Cannes, the rights for the Italian distribution of Moon The Panda directed by Gilles de Maistre were also purchased .
It is a family film about the friendship between a boy and a panda, in the typical style of de Maistre (Mia and the White Lion, The Wolf and the Lion).

Alexis Cassanet , EVP of Gaumont told ScreenDaily :
“It is a family film in English and the panda is an emblematic animal that is the universal symbol of wildlife protection and elicits sympathy from all audiences.”
Shooting will begin at the end of the month in China, in the mountains of Sichuan.
