Paramount joins the list of American majors who have decided not to distribute their next titles in Russian theaters, due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

Specifically the romantic adventure comedy The Lost City with Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe and Sonic 2 – the movie .

The first Sonic had grossed nearly $ 11M, Ocean’s Eight with the Bullock $ 6.3M while Spider-Man: No Way Home nearly $ 45M.

The press release:

“As we witness the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine, we have decided to pause the theatrical release of our upcoming films in Russia, including The Lost City and Sonic 2. We are close to all the people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Russia and in our international markets and we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops. ”

Basically all the big tentpole coming out between March and April will not arrive in Russia. We wonder if Universal will also decide to put Michael Bay ‘s action movie Ambulance on hold on April 8th .
