Apparently all is not lost for the film in the Pirates of the Caribbean saga starring Margot Robbie .

The actress herself had recently dashed fans’ hopes , but Jerry Bruckheimer was more positive about the making.
There is still hope for the film with Margot Robbie
Interviewed by Collider , the producer said that there are two Pirates of the Caribbean projects currently in development, is that for the moment priority has been given to the second one which involves Ted Elliot and Chernoby creator Craig Mazin .
I think at some point that script will be ready as well. We developed two different stories for Pirates and the other one took priority, so we’re working on getting that one into production.
Birds of Prey and Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson worked on the project script with Margot Robbie . The film will not be a reboot of Pirates of the Caribbean , but a story set in the same universe of the films with Johnny Depp , focusing on original characters.
