The official Prey trailer introduces the character played by Amber Midthunder , a young warrior who believes she is ready for the hunt.
When Naru crosses the path of the Predator, he tries unsuccessfully to warn the members of his tribe. “He knows how to hunt, I know how to survive.”
The confrontation begins.
Prey will debut on Friday 5 August on Hulu in the US, on Star + in Latin America and on Disney + under the Star label in other international territories.
The synopsis:
Set in the Comanche nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a proud and extremely skilled warrior. Raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, when danger threatens her encampment, she decides to protect her people. The prey she pursues, and which she ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a ferocious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Comanche
The filmmakers set out to create a film that provided an accurate portrayal of the Comanches and imparted a level of authenticity that was true to indigenous peoples.
On Hulu, you can optionally choose the Comanche language for Prey or choose subtitles. This is the first feature film made for a platform to be available in this language in its entirety.
The cast
It is composed almost entirely of native and First Nation talent, including Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), newcomer Dakota Beavers , Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), Julian Black Antelope (Tribal) and former basketball player Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories) as the Predator.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, the Black Mirror Playtest episode), it was scripted by Patrick Aison (Wayward Pines, Kingdom, Jack Ryan and Treadstone ) .
