Netflix has released a new image from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story , the Bridgerton prequel limited series .
The photo portrays Arsema Thomas as the young Lady Agatha Danbury (played by Adjoa Andoh in the original series).
The series will obviously focus on the rise to power of Queen Charlotte, played by India Amarteifio . Lady Agatha will use the latter to find her place in society, also thanks to the influence of her much older husband. Netflix describes the character thus:
Submissive to her older husband, Agatha uses Charlotte’s arrival to find her way into society. Agatha becomes a guide to the new queen thanks to her knowledge of the social scene and the intricacies of marriage. Meanwhile, she too will find her own voice and a power that will allow her to become the iconic Lady Danbury of Bridgerton.
The series will consist of eight episodes. Golda Rosheuvel , who plays Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton, will reprise her role. The official synopsis follows:
This prequel to the Bridgerton universe centers on Queen Charlotte’s rise to power and fame. The series tells how the young queen’s marriage to King George is the basis of a great love story and a social change thanks to which the world of high society of Bridgerton was born.
Protagonists and performers
India Amarteifio is the young Charlotte. Betrothed to the mysterious king of England against her will, Charlotte arrives in London to find she’s not quite what the royal family expected. As she learns her way around the palace, she transforms into one of Europe’s most unforgettable rulers.
Michelle Fairley ( Gangs of London, Game of Thrones ) is Princess Augusta. Determined to maintain her family’s power, the Dowager Princess does whatever she deems necessary to ensure her son’s leadership in a changing Britain.
Corey Mylchreest ( Sandman ) is young King George. Handsome, charismatic, a little mysterious, George has always adapted to the restrictions imposed on him by the crown. Until now. Having to share space, and his bed, with his new wife forces him to face his demons head-on.
