Dwayne Johnson never made it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, at least not in time to star alongside Chris Evans .
But if Johnson doesn’t go to Evans, Evans goes to Johnson: the former Captain America will join The Rock in the Christmas movie Red One , which will arrive on Prime Video.

For now, there are no details on the Red One plot . We only know that Dwayne Johnson will not play Santa Natal and. Hiram Garcia , production president of Seven Bucks Productions, Johnson’s company, came up with the story. Amazon Studios won the project after a heated auction. Jake Kasdan , director of the new Jumanji , will direct from a script by Chris Morgan , screenwriter of the Fast & Furious saga .
Kasdan will produce Red One with his company The Detective Agency, along with Melvin Mar and Sky Salem Robinson , Morgan for Chris Morgan Productions and Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.
First time for Johnson and Evans
Both Johnson and Evans have had cameos (Johnson vocals) on Free Guy , but it will be the first time they will play a side-by-side film. Evans will appear in another big movie destined for streaming: The Gray Man , the film that the Russo Brothers are making for Netflix, where he will be joined by Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas . He will also voice Buzz Lightyear in Pixar ‘s Lightyear – Buzz’s True Story , coming next summer.
