The second season of Russian Doll will arrive on Netflix on April 20: here is the new trailer of the show, in the original version and in the one dubbed in Italian.
The synopsis also offers us the first details on the plot:
Set four years after Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) escaped the mortality time loop together, Russian Doll season 2 will continue to explore existential themes through an often humorous and sci-fi lens. Uncovering a fate even worse than a never-ending death, this season sees Nadia and Alan delve deeper into their past via an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most infamous locations. At first they experience it as an intergenerational adventure that spans different eras, but they soon discover that this extraordinary event may be more challenging than they thought, and together they must seek a way out.
The cast of the second season will also include Sharlto Copley and Annie Murphy .

Russian Doll follows the adventure of Nadia (Natasha Lyonne), a young woman who appears to be trapped in the role of the guest of honor at a party in New York.
The series was conceived by Natasha Lyonne, Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, all also executive producers, with Headland and Lyonne in the role of authors. The cast includes Greta Lee (“KTown”), Yul Vazquez (“Captain Phillips – Offshore Attack”), Tony Award-winning Elizabeth Ashley (“Ocean’s 8”), and Charlie Barnett (“Chicago Fire”). Guest stars include Chloë Sevigny (“Lizzie”), SAG Award Winner Dascha Polanco (“Orange is the New Black”), Brendan Sexton III (“Three Billboards in Ebbing, Missouri”), Rebecca Henderson (” Appropriate Behavior ”), Jeremy Lowell Bobb (“ The Knick ”), Ritesh Rajan (“ Stitchers ”) and Jocelyn Bioh (“ School Girls ”).
Universal Television, Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, JAX Media and 3 Arts Entertainment are handling the production. The series features an all-female team in writing and directing. The episodes were directed entirely by Jamie Babbit, Headland, and Lyonne.
