Samsung promises four Android updates for its high-end and some mid-range

Samsung has announced increased Android update support for its high-end and some mid-range series.

Already in 2020, Samsung promised to provide three Android updates to most of its cell phones. A year later, he upped the ante with four years of security patches .

As part of its Unpacked 2022 , where it revealed the Galaxy S22 , Samsung has committed to bringing four generations of Android  and ONE UI to its high-end and select mid-range devices.

And the competition? Google and Xiaomi far from the mark

Samsung even outperforms Google Pixels in this area. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro ensure at least Android version updates until October 2024, which would mean three versions. As for security patches, the Pixels guarantee five years.

As for Xiaomi , the Chinese company promises three years of Android version updates, but only (for now) on its Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro models along with four security patches. Xiaomi is evaluating extending this policy to other models.
