Sydney Prescott , Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley survived Ghostface for four films, but in the fifth their trio became a duo: .

the good Dewey , in fact, died at the hands of Amber Freeman while saving Tara Carpenter . We already know that Neve Campbell won’t be returning in Scream 6 , so only Gale remains … but she’s also not doing well, judging by the new spot.

A mysterious Ghostface begins terrorizing New York City, just as Sam Carpenter ( Melissa Barrera ), Tara Carpenter ( Jenna Ortega ), and the other survivors of the previous massacre have moved to the city to study. It seems that this version of the killer has built quite a cult on the legacy of Ghostface , and who knows if the ruined mask has something to do with it. However, we know that the killer will have no problem killing his victims even in a crowd, consistent with the metropolitan setting.

The release of Scream 6 is also expected in 3D: it will arrive in Italy on March 9 , distributed by Eagle Pictures . You can see the spot below.

Scream in the cinema and on TV

The saga has so far five cinematic chapters released in theaters: the first four were directed by Wes Craven , while the screenplays are almost all by Kevin Williamson (the creator of Dawson’s Creek ), apart from the third film, written by Ehren Kruger . The fifth chapter was instead directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett , who then returned for the sixth.

The franchise transitioned to the small screen in 2015, in an MTV series that ran for two seasons. A third season – actually unrelated to the previous two – aired in 2019 on VH1.
