Warner Bros. has changed the release dates of its cinecomics , and Shazam! Fury of the Gods was brought forward to December 16, 2022 .
That means it will now be out before The Flash , and director David F. Sandberg cited this change with his usual irony.
In the sequel we will see the new costumes of the Shazam Family , already very popular with fans. Well, Sandberg reveals that the film will not explain the origin of the uniforms, also because there is no need:

For the record, CinemaSins is the youtube channel that publishes videos with all the “errors” and inconsistencies of the films. In this case, Sandberg jokes that any change in the DC Extended Universe could be justified by Flash ‘s interventions on the timeline in his film – a very convenient explanation, but one that cannot apply to this sequel.

The synopsis of the first film
There is a superhero inside each of us, it just takes a little bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, just say the word “SHAZAM!”. This 14-year-old adopted boy can transform into the adult superhero Shazam, thanks to an ancient sorcerer. By keeping a child’s heart in a handsome, divine body, Shazam does what any superpowered kid would do: he has fun! Can he fly? Does he have x-ray vision? Can he shoot rays from his hands? Can he skip his homework in class? Shazam decides to test all of his powers with the lightheartedness typical of children. But he must learn to control them in order to counter the forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

As for the actors, Zachary Levi plays the superhero, while Asher Angel lends his face to his alter ego, little Billy Batson . Mark Strong is the villain Doctor Sivana , while Grace Fulton plays Mary Bromfield . Also in the cast are Jack Dylan Grazer ( Freddy Freeman ), Cooper Andrews , Marta Milans , Ross Butler , Meagan Good , Djimon Hounsou and John Glover .
The sequel will feature Rachel Zegler , Helen Mirren ( Hespera ) and Lucy Liu ( Kalypso ).

The film is directed by David F. Sandberg ( Lights Out , Annabelle: Creation ). Black Adam ( Dwayne Johnson ) does not appear in the film, but will be the protagonist of a cinecomic dedicated to him. The screenplay is the work of Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke .
