A film by Kelly Reichardt presented in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. It is her fourth collaboration with Michelle Williams , following Wendy and Lucy , Meek’s Cutoff and Certain Women .

The American actress lends her face to Lizzy Carr , a sculptor who is preparing a decisive exhibition for her career, but has to deal with the daily dramas of her friends and family. Hong Chau plays her neighbor Di lei Jo Tran , also an artist. The film offers itself as an ironic portrait of the art scene of Portland, Oregon.

The synopsis of Showing Up

A sculptor preparing to open a new exhibition must balance her creative life with the daily dramas of family and friends in this vibrant, playful and engaging portrait of the arts and crafts by Kelly Reichardt.

The cast

The cast includes Michelle Williams, Hong Chau, Judd Hirsch, Maryann Plunkett, John Magaro, André Benjamin, Heather Lawless, Amanda Plummer, Larry Fessenden , James Le Gros and Izabel Mar.
