SIX FEET UNDER: HBO IS CONSIDERING A REVIVAL OF THE SERIES

Six Feet Under , the series created byAlan Ballthat aired on HBO from 2001 to 2005, over the course of five seasons, could be back.

HBO would be considering making a sequel, although for now the project is in the preliminary stages and may not go further. Currently it seems that there is no precise concept, nor a scriptwriter. However, the network commissioned a script.

Alan Ball and original series veterans Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari will executive produce. Ball won’t write this time, though.

The original series centered on the lives of the Fisher family, who own a funeral home in Los Angeles. The cast included Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Jeremy Sisto, Frances Conroy, Lauren Ambrose, Freddy Rodriguez, Mathew St. Patrick, Rachel Griffiths and Richard Jenkins . The series is considered very important for the development of the new television era and is still considered one of the best ever made.

Years ago, speaking of a potential revival of the series, Greenblatt said:

I would like that very much. I just hung up two posters of the series in my office at HBO’s Santa Monica headquarters, and I am so proud of that series. I don’t think it will return, considering that many people have gone in different directions.

Never say never.
