SONY UPDATES THE 2023/2024 PRICE LIST: MADAME WEB POSTPONED TO 2024

Tonight Sony made some changes to the 2023/2024 list.

Some high-profile titles have slipped due to the well-known problem of too many requests for special effects, which have lengthened the post-productions of numerous films.

Let’s start with the Sony / Marvel movies : Columbia’s Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson postponed from January 13 to October 6, 2023 in IMAX. The first weekend of October had been used to launch Venom . Kraven will now have to deal with 20th Century Studios ‘ True Love , an untitled Warner Bros film and an untitled Focus Features film .

Columbia / Marvel ‘s Madame Web also postponed from October 6, 2023 ( Kraven ‘s former date ) to February 16, 2024 in IMAX, a date previously occupied by an untitled Marvel Studios film that was recently postponed. The film stars Dakota Johnson .

The untitled Sony / Marvel movie has been moved from June 7, 2024 to July 12, 2024 , it is speculated that it may be Morbius 2 . There’s an untitled New Line horror that weekend .

Garfield , voiced by Chris Pratt , has been postponed for three months. February 16, 2024 to Memorial Day weekend: May 24, 2024 . This weekend includes: Warner Bros / Village Roadshow ‘s Furiosa , IF directed by John Krasinski with Ryan Reynolds for Paramount and an untitled film from 20th Century Studios .

Not just blockbusters

The sci-fi film 65 , starring Adam Driver , has been brought forward by a month: from April 28 to March 10, 2023, the date previously occupied by Disney ‘s Haunted Mansion . Produced by Columbia , it is written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods , the writers of A Quiet Place .

The untitled horror of the True Haunting franchise , inspired by a true story, will be released on January 6, 2023 on the first weekend of the year. Directed by Gary Fleder , the Screen Gems film is about a couple who move into a haunted house.
Sony is using this date for the release of some genre movies, in 2019 they had launched Escape Room which had grossed $ 18.2M over the weekend, then concluded the run with $ 57M and worldwide with $ 155M. The only other film released nationally that weekend is Damien Chazelle ‘s Babylon .

Finally the Searching sequel , Missing with Storm Reid and Nia Long , got a date. The Screen Gems film will be released on February 24, 2023 . Universal ‘s Cocaine Bear comes out that weekend , starring Keri Russell and Margo Martindale , and Lionsgate ‘s Jesus Revolution .
